Home & Gift

A retail system for beautiful assortments and dependable replenishment

Home and gift stores need a quick checkout that still understands a varied catalog: seasonal collections, vendor lines, color or size variants, and small items that move quickly. Square for Retail brings payments, item and SKU management, inventory counts, purchase orders, customer profiles, and online selling into one connected workflow.

Built for your day-to-day

How it fits your business

Build a polished counter with Square Register, take stock on the move with Square Handheld, or use an iPad-based Square Stand. Then keep in-store and online inventory aligned, offer pickup, and turn one-time shoppers into repeat customers with gift cards, loyalty, and targeted marketing. Choose the plan level that matches the depth of inventory and multi-location control your shop needs.

Key capabilities

What you can do

  • Keep a distinctive catalog organized

Search or scan GTINs, create items and SKUs, import an existing catalog in bulk, and use item grids that fit your collection. Retail Plus adds richer inventory controls such as unit costs and purchase orders.

  • Know what needs replenishing

Low-stock alerts, stock receiving, inventory counts, vendor management, and inventory reporting help a home-goods shop protect availability without guessing. Cross-location transfers and returns are plan-dependent.

  • Sell beyond the storefront

Connect a Square Online store, synchronize orders, inventory, and customer data, and offer buy-online-pickup-in-store. Square also describes selling through Instagram and Google Product listings when the website is connected.

  • Make checkout feel effortless

Square supports tap, chip, swipe with the appropriate reader, digital wallets, refunds, exchanges, discounts, and Afterpay. A two-screen Register can let shoppers review their purchase while staff finish the sale.

  • Build the next visit

Create customer profiles from purchases, issue physical or digital gift cards, and use Square Loyalty and Square Marketing to encourage repeat shopping. Gift-card load fees and marketing message allowances vary by plan.
